Ready for adventure? Then make the underwater world your playground! We are the Wiregrass Area's oldest full-service dive center with over 20 years experience.

This is a 4 day intense training session to include validation of your eLearning knowledge reviews and 5 pool chapters. This course expects you to have read the book and complete the knowledge reviews at the end of each chapters prior to the class start date. This will speed up the process. You can start your eLearning at any time!

Includes professional training, materials and all required equipment, except personal equipment. The only cost not included in the course fee are any park entry fees.

Be prepared to get wet! Bring a bathing suit, towel, water bottle, dry clothes, sun screen and a pen.

Ages 10 and up.

Spring/Summer (Thurs - Sun; 4 consecutive days)
Fall/Winter ( 2 Weekends; Part 1 and Part 2 over two weekends)
Private Classes available for an additional fee.
Schedules are flexible based on student needs. We work around flight/school/work schedules!

  • Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent

What you can expect to learn:

The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Course will cover all of the necessary skills and knowledge for open water scuba diving, including:

  • The aquatic environment: vision, light, sound, heat loss, tides, currents, waves, surge, etc.
  • Physics and physiology: buoyancy, pressure, air spaces, breathing compressed air, mixed gases, etc.
  • Dive equipment selection, assembly, use and maintenance
  • Dive planning
  • Basic scuba skills including mask and regulator skills, swimming underwater, buoyancy control, basic rescue techniques, and emergency procedures
  • And much more!

What’s in it for you:

Upon successful completion of the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course, graduates may:

  • Conduct open water dives in conditions similar to their training
  • Continue their dive education by enrolling in SDI Advanced Diver and Specialty courses

SDI Open Water Scuba Diver minimum requirements:

  • Demonstrate mature and sound judgment concerning dive planning and execution
  • Satisfactorily complete the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver knowledge quests or equivalent online learning course
  • Complete all open water requirements safely and efficiently
